![]() ![]() Emily Beecham's portrayal of the Widow has grown on me and she looks really impressive in some of the fight scenes. The main characters Danny Wu and Martin Csokas both do a satisfactory job in their roles. The acting isn't absolutely stunning, but acting never was in many of those Chinese movies and it was never meant to be. The fight scenes in this movie are incredible considering it is made for television. ![]() but not if you are a fan of old Chinese martial arts movies. ![]() I get that people want this to be entirely believable and that aspects, such as the lack of guns in a world where other machines exist, appears to be hard to fathom - but think of all the other movies that have unbelievable components - such as why does Obe Wan wear a raggedy robe in a time when they can fly through space? He could still wear a robe, but did it have to look like a potato sack? How can Batman really compete with Superman, seriously? Anyway the mix of martial arts with supernatural and post- apocalyptic themes would make most people think this is a horrible combination for a TV series. In order to seek out the truth about his own past, Sunny wants to know more of this city beyond the Badlands, and must find a way out, especially now that his lover Veil is illegally pregnant with his child. Meanwhile, Sunny discovers M.K.'s pendant has the same image as the one on his childhood compass of a place called Azra, the boy's home. loses control of himself as if something takes over his body, making the boy valuable to an opposing baron, The Widow. When he brings him back to The Fort to train as a "Colt", a Clipper-in-training, things quickly get out of hand with another trainee. who harbors a dark secret about his past. ![]() Regent Sunny, a highly-skilled fighter and the deadliest "Head Clipper" for Baron Quinn battles the Nomads and rescues a mysterious boy named M.K. The Badlands, a region of former North American states, are ruled over by the Barons, seven men and women who control their own territories and raise armies of lethal fighters called Clippers. 500 years from now, war has left the world in ruins. ![]()
